The student will…
…Be able to make a differential diagnosis for a patient complaining of pain in the elbow without history of trauma.
…Be able to ask the patient appropriate historical questions for the chief complaint of "elbow pain."
…Know and be able to perform physical exam maneuvers needed for all components of the differential diagnosis for Patient #6.
…Be able to order the proper ancillary tests and appropriately evaluate the test results to confirm or rule out medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) or lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
…Be able to construct and prioritize a treatment plan containing all appropriate therapeutic options medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) or lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).
…Be able to define medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) or lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and identify pertinent related anatomy, pathogenic factors, the incidence and related conditions associated with each of these diagnoses.
